S/S 22 Casual Edit
This year I’ve been embracing my casual style more than I’ve ever done in the past.
I used to work in a corporate office job where business dress was standard. So until a couple of years ago, pencil skirts and blouses were my wardrobe staples.
Now I work for myself and work permanently from home, I’ve had to have a complete wardrobe reboot.
So in Summer 2021 I did a full declutter… and I realised I really did have nothing to wear! Particularly for Spring and Summer – two seasons I’ve always struggled with when it comes to my clothes. The bonus was that I did make a lot of room for new styles.
I used to only buy really cheap summer clothes and then throw them away every year, but I wanted to do things differently in the spirit of a more sustainable summer wardrobe. One with clothes that 1) I actually like and look forward to wearing, and 2) that will last for more than 1 year and can also be used as part of my Autumn transitional wardrobe.
This edit takes us right back to the basics of casual dressing – with jeans and t-shirts firm favourites this year. Which is honestly the first time I’ve ever said that!
My favourite stores this year for casual high street outfits are COS, & Other Stories, Marks & Spencer and Outdazl.
I’ve already started wearing a lot of these items and I’m really enjoying my new casual vibe from the high street.
(Although I have to confess, I do still keep the pencil skirts stored at the top of my wardrobe, just in case…)
Finally, I’ve included some of my favourite accessories right now for the finishing touch this Spring/Summer.
I hope you find some inspiration and some staples you can add to your own wardrobe! Click on each image to shop.
